Harriet M. Creel

Former Medford, Ore., resident, Harriet M. Creel, 97, went home to the Lord on Friday, January 14, 2011, at Maple Street Manor, Pe Ell, Wash. She was born on February 21, 1913, in Christine, N.D., to Carl and Gina Hoel. She was one of eight daughters. Harriet attended school in Fargo, N.D., including business school.

Harriet and her twin sister, Hazel, moved to Redding, Calif., in the 1930s, where she met and married, John Riley Creel. They moved with their two daughters, Jo and Lynn, to Medford, Ore., in 1946. Harriet remained in Medford until 1995, when she joined her daughter and son-in-law in Washington.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and worked in accounting at Bear Creek Orchards for a number of years.

Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, John; daughter, Jo; and sisters, Edna, Evelyn, Gladys, Salina, Alyce, and Hazel. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Jim Davidson; grandsons, John (Jennifer) and Robert (Michelle) Lucas; and granddaughter, Lynn Lucas (Matt Schultheiss); sister, Adeline Robertsdahl; and great grandchildren, Riley, Jordan, Elayne, Hunter, Sahara Lucas and Brynn Schultheiss.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 21, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Phoenix, Ore. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 516 West 4th Street, Medford, OR 97501, or charities of choice.
