Robert E. Little, Jr.
Robert E. Little Jr., 90, a resident of Rogue Valley Manor since 1994, passed away on February 28, 2011, after a short illness.
Mr. Little was born October 31, 1920, in Chicago, the son of Robert E. Little and Jessie Gafa Little. He married Dorothy Coupland, of Scarborough, England, in June 1947. She preceded him in death in September 1958. He then married Helen Corey Jackson of Park Ridge, Ill., in January of 1962; she preceded him in death in August 2007.
He is survived by his daughter, Robert (Daniel) Dorsey, of Park Ridge; his son, Bruce (Cheryl Sullivan), of Minneapolis, Minn; his stepdaughter, Judy Jackson, of Lombard, Ill.; his stepson, Bruce (Amy), of Chicago; granddaughters, Kathleen Dorsey, Therese Little, and Emily Jackson; and grandsons, Patrick Dorsey, Sean Little, Bryan (Kara) Jackson, and Matthew (Brooke) Jackson.
Mr. Little was a veteran of World War II. From 1942 until 1945, he was a flight line mechanic for B-24 Liberator Bombers in the Second Air Division of the Eighth Air Force of the United States Army. He graduated from Carl Schurz High School, in Chicago, in 1939, and from DePaul University, in 1948. Mr. Little worked in sales for almost 50 years, for National Cylinder Gas Co., Chemetron Corporation, and Air Liquide International.
Private funeral services were held March 3, 2011, at Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
