Clinton Wayne Haines
Clinton Wayne Haines, 59, of Medford, Ore., passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011, at the V.A. Medical Center, in Portland, Ore. He was born on September 11, 1951, in
Buffalo, N.Y., to Clinton P. and Ellen (Nocero) Haines. His family moved to Saratoga, Calif., where he lived until
Clint served in the U.S. Army, in the Vietnam War. He had a long career as a union rep for UAW, NEA and OEA in
California, Nevada and Oregon. Clint then worked a short time in San Francisco, Calif., for United Airlines before
retiring. He was involved with the San Jose Firefighters
Rodeo, NFR and UVR throughout his life.
Clint was part owner of RCR, a fighting bull company, while living in Roseburg, Ore. After retirement, he co-founded the nonprofit organization, Amerasian Childfind, which took him to Vietnam eighteen times. He helped many veterans reunite with their children. Clint loved fishing, camping and
anything to do with rodeo. He enjoyed reading, Western
movies, world history and spending time with friends and family.
Clint was preceded in death by his father, Clinton P. Haines; and brother, Kevin Haines. He is survived by his wife, Van Haines, of Medford, Ore.; children, Clinton P. Haines II, of Medford, Ore., Megan Haines, of Clackamas, Ore., and Courtney Haines, and her fianc, Ramon Lara, of Roseburg, Ore.; granddaughters, Rylee Anderson and Anna Lara of Roseburg, Ore.; mother, Ellen Haines, of Nevada City, Calif.; brother, Brian (Marion) Haines, of Nevada City, Calif.; as well as numerous nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Our lives will be forever changed by Clint's passing, but we are grateful to have known him and to have been part of his life. A celebration of life will be held at the Ramada Inn, 2250 Biddle Rd., Medford, OR 97504, 541-779-3141, on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in his son's name for his college education, c/o Megan Haines, 11280 SE Sunnyside Rd., #B32, Clackamas, OR 97015.
