Lois Jennie Beeson
Lois Jennie Beeson, 79, of Phoenix, Ore., passed away June 27, 2011, at her home. She was born on February 10, 1932, in Phoenix, Ore., to Cyril Steele and Viola Steele Waggoner.
On June 15, 1963, she married Edward R. Beeson in Carson City, Nev., and they recently celebrated 48 memorable and loving years together.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. Her special interests included fishing, camping, and painting. Among her favorite memories were their many fishing trips to Brookings, Ore., with family and friends.
Having had polio when she was three years old, she was very passionate about the necessity of childhood vaccinations.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Medford, Ore., Southern Oregon CB Radio Club, and Southern Oregon Society of Artists.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; daughter, Nena (Bruce) Gledhill, of Talent, Ore.; son, Dana (Kim) Morris, of Marcola, Ore.; grandchildren, Shane Gledhill, of White City, Ore., Tamara (Benjamin) Kessler, of Bend, Ore., Libby Morris and Noah Morris, both of Medford, Ore., and Kenneth Corgill; and great-grandchildren, Kole and Kaitlin Gledhill, of White City, Ore., and Aiden Ashworth, of Medford, Ore. Also surviving are brothers, Adrian (Betty) Steele, of Phoenix, Ore., James Steele, of Gervais, Ore.; sister, Dolly (James) Arnold, of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; stepfather, Osa Waggoner; and brothers, Edward Steele and Osa Waggoner, Jr.
A memorial service is to be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2011, at First Church of the Nazarene, 1974 E. McAndrews, Medford, Ore. Pastor Kevin Gowland will officiate.
