Eugene John Carson
Eugene John Carson (Geno/Poppy) passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at his home. He was born in Ogden, Utah, to John and Grace Carson.
Eugene married JoAnne Crenshaw on May 2, 1953, in Santa Barbara, Calif. From December 1950 to November 1952, he was a U.S. Army Teletype operator. He worked as a produce manager and as a produce warehouse man. Eugene was a Scout Master for troop 104, in the 1970's in Goleta, Calif., and was "Man of the Year" in Goleta, Calif., in 1975.
Eugene enjoyed collecting guns, watching westerns, football, hiking. He loved his family very much. He was a man with a smile that warmed your heart.
Eugene is survived by Deborah L. Hassell; Douglas E. Carson; Monica L. Needham; Duncan J. Carson; 15 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne Carson on February 25, 2009; and grandson, Mark Carson in 2005.
A celebration of life servce will be held October 29, 2011, in Central Point, Ore.
