Lance Stuart Stahl

Lance Stuart Stahl, of Medford, Ore., passed away on October 26, 2011, in Kirkland, Wash., surrounded by his wife and sons. He was born in Chicago, Ill., on September 26, 1938, to Elmer and Martha (Gisselberg) Stahl. He was raised in Elmhurst, Ill., and graduated from York High School in 1956. In 1962, he received a bachelors of science degree in finance from Southern Illinois University.

He married Sallie Taylor, and together they had two sons, Lance Scott and Jason William. They later divorced.

After five years in the cost accounting field in Chicago, Lance moved into systems design with Weyerhaeuser and Union Carbide, gaining experience in his new career field. His career continued to move forward after joining InterNorth in Chicago in 1972, where he moved up to project manager for MIS (Management Information Systems).

On July 1, 1978, Lance married Catherine Charters. In 1979, he was transferred to the home office location in Omaha, Neb. They had a son, Gannon Blake. In 1986, the Omaha headquarters moved to Houston, Texas, as Enron Inc., but Lance chose instead to leave Enron and move to Seattle, Wash., with early retirement. After his wife retired in 2001, they moved to Medford, Ore.

Lance loved spending time with family, camping, traveling, woodworking and TV sports.

Lance is survived by his wife, Catherine; sons, Lance Scott (Jodi) Stahl, of West Des Moines, Iowa, Jason (April) Stahl, of Anchorage, Alaska, and Dr. Gannon Stahl, of Kirkland, Wash; brother, Ross (Pat) Stahl, of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and one niece.

A private family service was held on November 1, 2011, at Cedar Lawns Memorial Park in Redmond, Wash.
