Celia Faye Corbin

Celia Faye Corbin, 89, passed away Friday, November 25, 2011. She was born May 29, 1922, in Janesville, Lassen County, Calif. She had many happy memories of her childhood in Janesville.

Celia and her late husband, J.P. Corbin ranched near Proberta, Calif., for 25 years. She worked hard raising calves, lambs, goats, horses and chickens. She tended a vineyard and orchard and canned on a Home Comfort wood stove. She churned her own butter and was noted for her delicious apple pies.

After the passing of her husband in 1985, Celia moved to Red Bluff, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed the freedom to explore her interests in reading, sewing, visiting with relatives and friends, and especially going on picnics. Celia had excellent penmanship and loved to write and receive letters. In Red Bluff, she was fortunate to have a close friendship with Floyd Lew. In 2001, she moved to Medford, Ore., to be near her daughter and son-in-law. In Oregon, one of Celia's favorite activities was getting drive-through coffee and going on a Sunday ride in the country with her daughter, Kim. In good weather, she loved a picnic.

Celia is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Robert) Faucher; brother, Jack Thomas, of Alaska; cousins, Janice Cooley, of Ariz., and Gail Keppeler, of Portland, Ore.; nieces and nephews; good friends, Camille Korsmo and Kirk and Marjorie Showalter.

A private memorial service will be held.
