Sylvia Hope Adams
Sylvia Hope Adams, of Central Point, Ore., passed away December 15, 2011, with her family by her side at her home.
Sylvia was born November 1, 1940, in Plentywood, Mont., to Lucille and Eldred Goetzinger. She graduated from Plentywood High School in 1958. She was married to Gerald Robert Adams on March 28, 1964, in Downey, Calif.
Sylvia led a humble and giving life devoted to her faith. She enjoyed gardening (especially her rose garden), antiques, 4-H leadership, tole painting, and furniture refinishing. Sylvia got most of her enjoyment being a mom and grandma.
Sylvia was a constant professional with unmatched skill and work ethic. Her employers included Western Life Insurance Company, Helena, Mont., St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company, St. Paul Minn., Western Life Insurance Company, Los Angeles, Calif., Harry and David Corporation, Medford, Ore., Brophy, Wilson and Duhaime Law Firm, Medford, Ore., Oregon Department of Forestry, Central Point, Ore. She retired from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife on April 1, 2003.
Sylvia is survived by husband, Gerald Adams, five children, Jeff (Andrea) Adams, of Touchet, Wash.; Bret Adams, of Central Point, Ore.; Todd (Lillie) Adams, of Salem, Ore.; Teresa (Ron) Winkler, of Reno, Nev.; and Alyssa (Will) Gingg, of Central Point., Ore.; eight grandchildren, Brooke, Brock, Kalie, Brennan and Land Adams, Tevin, Elena and Orrin Gingg; six sisters, Marilyn Goetzinger and Amy Goetzinger, of Plentywood, Mont., Anita Coleman, of Charlo, Mont., Betty Lou Mandler, of New Milford, Conn., Ellen Christensen, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Lois Greenway, of Davis, Calif.; two brothers, Hal Goetzinger, of New York, N.Y., and Chester Goetzinger, of Alberta, Canada.
Sylvia was preceded in death by by her parents, Lucille and Eldred Goetzinger; and a grandson, Trenton Winkler.
A funeral will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at the Medford Armory in Medford, Ore.
