Earl Mrytue, 83, of Phoenix, Ore., passed away peacefully on February 8, 2012, at Hearthstone Nursing Facility. He was born on January 3, 1929, in Sioux City, Iowa.
Earl graduated from Berkelely High School in Calif., and was a proud member of the Motion Picture Industry (MPI), working his last eighteen years as a lab technician. He was exceptionally proud of his editing of the movie "E.T." He was a past worshipful master of Medford Masonic Lodge #103, Af and AM, having received a 50 year pin and his Hiram Award. Earl was a knight of the york cross of hanor of the York Rite Bodies, past royal patron of the Amaranth with a 50 year pin, past high priest of the Royal Arch Mason, past illustrious master of the Council and past commander of commandry. He was commander of the knights of Malta, and a member of the Scottish Rite and the Hillah Shrine. Earl was passionate about cooking and loved cooking for the Masonic Lodge and others.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian, of 62 years; son, Earl D.
Myrtue; three granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Medford Masonic Lodge, 975 N. Phoenix Rd., in Medford, Ore., on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gatefully accepted by Hillah Shrine for the Hospital Transportation Fund.
