Charlotte Marylyn Seaman

Charlotte M. Seaman passed away on January 18, 2012, at her home surrounded with love, family, friends and dogs. She was born March 29, 1939, in Medford, Ore., and attended Phoenix, Ore., schools. She worked as a bank teller for many years, and as a bookkeeper for Seaman's Auto Electric.

Charlotte loved all children and her home was always open and welcoming to friends, family and neighbors. She enjoyed reading books and shared them with everyone. She was intensely curious about the world around her, and never tired of gardening, traveling, cooking, dogs, picnics and making new friends. She was the person you could call at 3:00 a.m. for anything, and she was an advocate for people in need her whole life.

Charlotte is survived by her husband of 52 years, Roger Seaman; daughter, Mari Hughes; sisters, Dorothy Claflin, and Beverly Wienecke; brother, Richard Keene; grandchildren, Diedre, Timmy, Cody, and Preston; great-granddaughter, Jayden; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Matthew Seaman; and two brothers, Leonard Keene, and Chester Keene.

Charlotte requested a party in lieu of a funeral service, so there will be a pot luck "spaghetti feed" at the Phoenix Grange Hall on Main St., Phoenix, Ore., on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. For more information about what to bring, etc., contact Leona at 541-899-7765. For those who wish, contributions can be made to Ashland Hospice, 280 Maple St., Ashland, OR 97520.
