Joyce A. Williamson
Joyce A. Williamson, of Medford, Ore., passed away April, 26, 2012, with her daughters by her side. She was born April 21, 1936, in Clinton, Iowa. Joyce graduated from Clinton High School.
She led the life of a military wife, moving anywhere from Camp David to Hawaii. Joyce loved life and everything it had to offer. She enjoyed garage sales, dancing, good food, and most of all, laughing and spending time with friends and family. She was an amazingly caring and loving mother and grandmother, taking time to make sure her family was happy and enjoyed life. Joyce was also the queen bee of the Red Hat Society group called the Aqua-nuts, where she had many close friends.
While in Hawaii, Joyce was an active member of the Fleet Reserve Association women's auxiliary, where she was instrumental in raising $190,000, for the Arizona Memorial and received commendations from the commander-in-chief of Pearl Harbor. Joyce always had a special place in her heart for Hawaii.
Survivors include husband, Allen Williamson; daughters, Marcia Williamson, Brenda Brewer, and Stacy Sporrer; and grandchildren, Amanda, Raymond, Richie, and Kinsey.
A memorial service will be held at Eagle Point Cemetery, Thursday, May 10, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in Joyce's name.
Joyce will truly be missed by many, but will be laughing and dancing in Heaven.
