Lyle Frances Coleman

Lyle Frances Coleman was born February 2, 1931, in Pottawattamie County, Iowa, and passed away June 8, 2012, in White City, Ore. He was the son of Roy Archie and Mabel A. Coleman, the youngest of six children.

He married Muriel Yvonne Kirkeby, December 9, 1950, in Glendale, Calif. They were married 50 years before her passing in June 2001.

Lyle spent time in Glendora, Calif., and in the early '70s made his home in Central Point, Ore. He owned and operated Lyle F. Coleman Construction until his retirement in 2002. Quality and fair price was something he strived for and he became lifelong friends with many of his clients. Lyle traveled briefly after retiring and his last few years were spent with his daughter and son-in-law at their White City home.

Lyle loved a good steak barbecue on Friday nights, a good Mexican dinner at Miguels, and a beer in hand while watching football or the western channel. He loved to gamble on the horses and spent a good bit of time at Grants Pass Downs. He also put a few dollars in the poker machines at Seven Feathers.

He is survived by his daughters, Sue Stanfield, of White City, Ore., and Terri Sullivan, of Newberg, Ore.; son, Leonard Coleman, of Prescott, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, and a son, Ron Coleman, of Lakeview, Ore.

His humor and orneriness will be very much missed...

There will be a gathering for family and friends Saturday, June 16, 2012, 12:00 p.m., at 7928 Division Rd, White City, Ore., to share memories and to celebrate his life.
