Marie Keplinger

Our mom, Marie, was born October 22, 1916, in Webster, S.D., and went home to be with the Lord July 4, 2012. She was a current resident of Loving Hands Care Home, where she was given excellent care and we thank them so much for their spiritual encouragement. Many thanks goes to Rogue Valley Medical Center, Hospice Care Services for their comforting care of our mother and of all our family.

Marie married our father, Henry Keplinger, July 1, 1936. They attended Bible College in Florida and became ordained ministers. They served as missionaries and came west to Klamath Falls, then to Medford where Henry's brother and sister resided. Henry was a carpenter as well and moved to Phoenix, Ore. where they built their home and church. They pastored there for six years. In 1956 they made their permanent home in Medford.

Marie was a homemaker, wife, and mother. She did work in seasonal fruit production, picking, packing, and canning at the local cannery. She served as Secretary and President of the Women's Auxiliary, Carpenter's Local Union, Medford. She also taught Sunday School at Unity Church in Medford. She enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and road trips to Reno with her husband. Her hobbies were making crafts and going to yard sales. She continued serving the ministry by being a disciple of God.

Her husband preceded her in death. She is survived by her three children, Shirley Swofford, Redding, Calif., Linda Bronson (Bill), Central Point, and Phillip Keplinger (Teresa), Washougal, Wash.; five grandchildren, Mark Swofford (Sharlyn), Christine Murphy (Dennis), both of Redding, Tami Carreiro (John), Craig Johnson, Carley Fulmer (Jeff), all of Central Point; 14 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Please join us to honor our mother at a graveside service to be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Glenhaven Garden, North Phoenix Road on Monday, July 16, 10:00 a.m. Viewing will be held prior to committal from 8:30 to 9:30.
