Scott David Nuckles, 54, of Central Point, Ore. lost his life Tuesday evening, February 12, 2013, in a motorcycle accident on Jacksonville Highway.

Scott was the second son of Donald and Kay Nuckles of Central Point. He is survived by daughters, Kelli Ewing (Will) of Rhododendron, Ore. and Katie Hayes (Ross) of Wilsonville, Ore.; brother, Robert Nuckles, of Auburn, Wash.; sister, Conni Green (Mike), of Kirkland, Wash.; granddaughters, Alison and Cassidy Ewing; grandsons, Isaiah Ewing and Porter Hayes; nephews, Parker, Kerry and Kyler Green; aunts, Mickey Thayer, of Ellensburg, Wash. and Dixie Johnson, of Anacortes, Wash.; 17 first cousins; girlfriend, Eileen; and ex-wife, Heidi Smith.

He was preceded in death by uncles, Dr. Ron Johnson, and Bert Nuckles Jr.; aunts, Dorothy Phillips, Fern Smith, and Charlotte Smelcer; grandparents, Bert and Grace Nuckles and Huston and Mildred Johnson; and four first cousins.

Scott was a native of Washington State. He was born in Ellensburg, and started school there. He lived in Ellensburg, Spokane, and Selah, Wash. before moving to Oregon in 1972. He graduated from Medford High School in 1977, and had attended Southern Oregon College in Ashland. Scott had worked in the lumber and trucking industries until a disability forced him to retire in 2012.

Scott was active in sports as a youth. He played football, baseball, basketball, and was a competitive swimmer for 12 years. He loved being out-of-doors. His hobbies included rafting, boating, skiing, camping, golfing, hunting, fishing, playing poker and video games, riding his Harley, working in his shop, and spending time with daughters and their families and with girlfriend, Eileen.

A celebration of life will be held at the family home for family and close friends on Saturday, March 23, 2013, from 12:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. A family gathering in memory of Scott was held Saturday, February 16, at his home in Central Point, Ore. Scott's cousin, Rev. Noel Phillips, of Salem, Ore. was with the family on February 16th.
