Don Craig Moore was born March 26, 1934 in Ringling, Okla., and passed away January 14, 2013 in Clackamas, Ore. His parents were John Clarence Moore and Lillian Beatrice Hanna Moore. He is survived by his brother, Joe Moore, and Joe's wife Sandra. Don leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Clare McHale Moore; his daughters, Teddie Matteson and husband Kirk and Margaret Moore and husband Dan Nemec; and his son Don Matthew Moore and wife Joyce. Don also leaves behind six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a tenth great-grandson, to be born in March of 2013.

Growing up, Don had many jobs from newspaper boy to working at the weekly newspaper in Central Valley, Calif. using an antique printing press. As a teenager he worked at Shasta Dam at the conclusion of its construction. Don's final occupation was a plumber. He started his apprenticeship in Redding, Calif., in 1954, almost simultaneously when he met his future wife, Clare. In 1966 he and his family moved to Gold Hill, Ore. where he continued his career for another 46 years in Medford, retiring in 1995.

After his retirement he and Clare did a lot of traveling. On some of their travels Don researched his ancestors, traveling to Texas, locating the graves, and finding where the early families lived.

Don had a lifelong hobby involving firearms everything from cap guns as a little boy, to flintlocks and center-fires as a grown man. He taught his family how to shoot and respect guns, including them in his hobby. He spent many happy days camping and hunting with them and his many friends.

Don belonged to Little Butte Mountain Men. He also belonged to Josephine County Sportsmen Park where he was a member in the Slug Gun Club, the Shotgun Club, and the Schutzen Gun Club where he was able to enjoy shooting all the different firearms. He was a life member in the National Rifle Association.

He was also a life member of the Masonic Lodge in Central Point, serving as Worshipful Master in 1973. Among his other activities he served as Mayor of Gold Hill that same year.

Late in 2012 Don and Clare moved to Clackamas, Ore. to be near their children.

Don lived a happy life, enjoying his many friends and family. He will truly be missed by all of us.
