Martha Elizabeth Madison
Martha Elizabeth Harris was born in Lakeview, Ore. January 24, 1928, the youngest of seven children. She passed away January 1, 2014 at her home in Ashland, Ore.
From her first marriage three children were born, Wayne Miller, Catherine Miller, and Larry Miller. She had one son, Ed Madison, from her second marriage.
She and her husband, Gene Madison, were missionaries in the Phillippines for several years. They started a church, built a chapel, and a personal residence. The work was progressing until her husband decided to take a different path.
She came back to Los Angeles, Calif. and got a job in personnel for Petis Security until she retired in 1991. She moved to Ashland, Ore. to be near her mother and sister.
Her son, Wayne, came to live with and care for her. He is a special son. Her daughter Catherine followed in her footsteps and is a missionary in Tanzania, Africa. Ed and Larry have been faithful in keeping touch and helping when they could. All four put their trust in the Lord.
She leaves behind her children; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Norma Brown; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Valley Bible Fellowship in Talent, Ore. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Valley Bible Fellowship, 616 So. Pacific Hwy, Talent.
