Phyllis R. Gazaway

Phyllis R. Gazaway, 78, of Medford, Ore. passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014. Phyllis was born February 3, 1935 in Medford, Ore.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Janie Fernlund; her brother, Douglas Fernlund; her grandson, Dakota Dillard; and her great-grandson, Blake Dillard. Survivors include her two daughters, Lynette Gundlach of Medford, Ore. and Sandy Dillard of Selma, Ore.; two brothers, Anthony and Michael Fernlund of Utah; and her former husband, Roy Gazaway of Arizona. She had ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, with one great-grandchild soon to be born.

Phyllis was a compassionate, kind-hearted, giving, and very thoughtful person who never had one bad word to say about anyone, and she loved her family very much. Her other love and passion was a strong belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She loved her Heavenly Father and she served him all her life and was a wonderful missionary and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her hobbies were reading educational and spiritually uplifting books, writing, music, camping, shopping, crafts, collecting things, cooking, swimming, etc. She loved life, people, and healthy ways of living.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 3465 Bellinger Lane, Medford, at the Medford/Jacksonville 4th WARD. A family gathering will be held following the service at the Gundlach home at 1065 Washburn Lane, Medford.
