Margaret Philomena

(Devlin) Steinkamp

Margaret Philomena (Devlin) Steinkamp of Medford, Ore. passed away peacefully January 14, 2014. Margaret was born to Henry and Catherine Devlin February 24, 1929 in Cleland, Scotland.

Margaret moved from Scotland to England during WWII. At the age of 16 Margaret was employed as a telegraphist. Her mother then moved the family to San Francisco, Calif. when Margaret was 18. Margaret then went to work for Best Foods and met Walter Steinkamp there. On October 29, 1950, Margaret and Walter married in San Bruno, Calif. Due to Walter's job, they moved from San Francisco to New York and then back to San Francisco. Another job moved them to Medford, Ore. in 1970.

Margaret is survived by her children, Kevin (Teresa) Steinkamp of Jacksonville, Ore., Keith (Celeste) Steinkamp of Bend, Ore., and Dennis (Tamara) Steinkamp of Woodbridge, Calif.; along with her three grandchildren, Ashley Clasby of Eugene, Ore., Erik Steinkamp of Bend, Ore., and Natalie Steinkamp of Woodbridge, Calif.; her twin sister, Nancy Reilly of Santa Rosa, Calif.; and sister, Pat Pleier of Citrus, Flo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Catherine Devlin; her brothers, John and Hugh Devlin; sister, Kathleen Devlin; husband, Walter Steinkamp; and son, Bryan Steinkamp.

Margaret was a member of the St. Anne's Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, and a member of the Sacred Heart Church and Choir of Medford, Ore.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church, 517 W. 10th St., Medford, Oregon.
