Craig Davis Clevenger
Craig Davis Clevenger, age 67, of Medford, Oregon, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014.
Craig grew up on a farm in Greens Fork, Ind. and graduated from Hagerstown High School, where he looked forward to celebrating his 50th reunion this summer. He served four years in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Electrician, with time in Okinawa and in Korea during the USS Pueblo incident. A part time job on base paid him in flying lessons, where he discovered his love of flying, which eventually led him to flight instructing and then a 33 year career as a commercial air freight pilot for Airborne Express. He loved golf, camping, hiking, traveling by 5th wheel, vegetable gardening, woodworking, playing cards, telling stories, and political discussions.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years; Sally (Davenport) Clevenger, son; Bryan Clevenger, brother; Robin Clevenger and wife Pamela, step-sister; Nancy DeHaven Wickham and husband Rusty, and step-brother; Don Litton and wife Jennifer, brother-in-law; Mark Davenport and wife Linda, step-mother; Alice Litton Clevenger, mother-in-law; Joan Davenport, by many cousins, and by nieces; Kathy Schaekel, Dorie Clevenger, and Lindsay Davenport, and nephews; Zachariah Clevenger, Tony Clevenger, and Clark Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marion Bill and Josephine (Davis) Clevenger, his brother Roger Clevenger, and sister-in-law Toye Clevenger.
Family and friends are planning to have a private celebration of Craig's life this summer.
