Jean Duncanson Schlinsog passed away April 30, 2014 at Avamere, Medford, Ore. She was born in Byron, Minn. August 16, 1923 to Charles Leslie Duncanson and Anna Corinne Espeseth.
After college she taught school. In 1944 she moved to Grants Pass, Ore. and married Jay Phillips Ralston. They had three children. She remarried in 1972 to John Schlinsog of Roseburg, Ore. She joined the Pythian Sisters in 1952 and rose to the office of Grand Chief in 1963. In 1972 she joined the Nomads of Avrudaka and became Maharani, the international president, in 1991. Jean was an avid sports fan, seamstress, and pianist.
She is preceded in death by son, Eric George Ralston; brothers, Stuart Duncanson and Robert Duncanson. She is survived by son, Roderick D. Ralston; daughter-in-law, Joan Ralston; daughter, Robyn Ralston Neeley; brother, Charles Duncanson; sister, Corinne Fenner; and sister, Marilyn Stewart; plus many nieces and nephews.
