Susan Elaine Osborn
Susan Elaine Osborn was born September 9, 1949 in Sweetwater, Texas to Inema and Fred Fincher. Before her second birthday the family moved to Bethany, Okla. where they spent the next 10 years in a close-knit middle-class neighborhood.
In 1961 the family moved to Reno, Nev. to be with her maternal grandmother. Susan graduated from Earl Wooster High School in 1967 and worked briefly for Nevada Bell. Seeking adventure and travel, at 19 she moved to the San Francisco, Calif. Bay Area intending to become a flight attendant. Instead she joined United Airlines as a maintenance base storekeeper, and began a 42-year career with the airline. She loved working for United and felt like part of an extended family there. She made many close friends there and is missed. While she didn't become a flight attendant, she did travel extensively throughout the world, as well as most major cities in the U.S. She was a seasoned traveler and never let the annoyances of air travel get her down.
In 1991 Susan met the love of her life, Stephen Osborn. They were drawn to each other's sense of humor from their first meeting, marrying in 1993. For the almost 21 years they were together they cherished each other's love and companionship above all else.
After retirement Susan and Stephen moved to Medford, Ore. in 2010 to build their dream home. Although Susan lived here for only a few years she made many friends and was known for her enthusiasm, sense of humor, kindness, and compassion. She was a natural organizer, starting a local Neighborhood Watch group, and was the unofficial social director of the neighborhood.
Susan left us Tuesday, April 8, 2014 and is survived by her husband, Stephen and her sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Bernard Frazelle.
