Kitty Govenor, 74, of Trail, Ore. fell asleep May 24, 2014 at her home surrounded by loving family. Kitty was born July 29, 1939 in Lubbock, Texas. She married her best friend of 58 years, Virgil Lyle Govenor, January 21, 1956 in Prospect, Ore. . Her dream was to become a teacher. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses she was able to fulfill that dream by sharing her hope of living forever in paradise.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil Lyle Govenor of Trail, Ore.; parents, Charles and Peggy Pitts of Trail, Ore.; three beautiful children, Cindy Carrico of Prineville, Ore., Rod Govenor of Shady Cove, Ore., and Denise Thompson of White City, Ore.; and one sister, "sissy", Paulette Williams of Medford, Ore. She happily watched 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren play on the hillside of her home. She was preceded in death by daughter, Pamela; mother, Pauline Pitts; and biological father, Paul Askew.
Everyone who knew her knew she loved music, singing, and laughing. She had an infectious smile, loving spirit, and intense love for her family. Words cannot describe her true kindness and generosity.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 21038 Hwy 62, Shady Cove, Ore.
