Merle Freeman Huffman

Merle Freeman Huffman passed away at his home in Central Point, Ore. Monday June 9, 2014. Merle was born August 24, 1940 in Mount Vernon, Knox County, Ohio to Harold Fredrick Huffman and Mary Evelyn Huffman.

In 1958 Merle moved to Southern California where he met and later married Janet Sue Durham in 1961. They had two daughters, Carmon and Ann, and decided to raise their family in Oregon, moving to the Ruch area in 1974.

In 1979 Merle purchased Medford Gutter Company and continued to run the company until his retirement in 2007.

Merle was a proud grandfather of six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was at every sporting event, dance production, theatrical production, honors night, and everything in-between. Along the way he was honored with life-long friendships and relationships that blessed him everyday of his life and continue to bless his family even after his passing.

Merle was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary Evelyn; brother, John Robert Huffman; and wife, Janet Sue Huffman. Merle is survived by his brother, Larry Huffman; sister, Sharon Reiheld of Ohio; daughters, Carmon Lynn Thomas and Ann Marie Glenn; grandchildren, Kiauna Thomas, Shanna Thomas, Vanessa Thomas, Justus Thomas, Melissa Glenn, and Elijah Pryse; great-grandson, Trey Thomas; and his companion, Sharon Neimoyer.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Red Lilly winery, 11777 Hwy. 238, Jacksonville, Ore.
