Diane T. Cowan
Diane Tanya Cowan passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at her home in Ashland, Ore. Diane was born February 5, 1929 in Arran, Saskatchewan to William and Florence Stushnoff. At the age of four, her family moved to New Westminster, British Columbia, where she grew up. She married Donald Murray Cowan on August 25, 1950 in New Westminster. In 1961, Don, Diane, and their four sons moved to Ashland, Ore., where she resided until her passing. After graduation from Southern Oregon College with a degree in Speech Pathology, she went to work for the Medford School District, retiring in 1995 as the Supervisor of Special Education.
Diane is survived by her son, David (MaryAnn) of Ashland, Ore.; grandsons, Peter, Daniel (Carolyn), Samuel, and Seth; son, Donald (Katherine) of Lake Oswego, Ore.; grandchildren, Lindsay, Jack, and Charlie; son, Derek, of Port Alberni, B.C.; grandchildren, Thea, Fraser, and Malcom; son, Douglas (Becky) of Eugene, Ore.; grandchildren, Samantha (Paul), Cameron, and Mackenzie; sister, Mary O'Grady of Port Orchard, Wash.; brothers, Al, George, and Fred Stushnoff of Vancouver, British Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; infant son, Kenneth Alexander; sister, Patricia Kennedy; and brothers, William and Robert Stushnoff.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church in Ashland, Ore. Arrangements are by Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland, Ore. www.litwillersimonsen.com
