Kenneth Lavern Marvin

Kenneth Lavern Marvin passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 in Central Point, Ore. He was born August 27, 1936 in Bloomfield, Neb. to Donald and Mabel Marvin. He moved to Oregon from Ainsworth, Neb. in 1965. He married Connie Marvin October 24, 1998 in Reno, Nev.

Kenneth was an expert rifleman and the recipient of a US Army medal. He worked for White City Plywood Timber Products from 1965 to 1998. He loved his Nebraska football teams and always wore his Nebraska coats and shirts to show his support. He enjoyed many trips to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico for vacations with family and friends. Everyday he looked forward to watching his hummingbirds and making sure they were all fed. His other hobbies included golf, hunting, playing pool, canning, reading western books, and watching western shows. He was a member of VFW and the Elks Lodge.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Connie Marvin; daughter, Karin Wicks; sons, Don Marvin and Greg Bruce; sisters, Dorothy Fredrickson, Larayne Halligan, and Hazel Langer; brothers, Lawrence and Ernie Marvin; grandchildren, Kevin Wicks, Jessica Crum, Jennifer, Darcy, and Dondi Marvin, and Paige and Cameron Bruce, and great-grandchildren Ellie, Colton, Ava, and Dax. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Mabel Marvin; son, Ron Marvin; and sisters, Claremae Hansen and Darlene Denny.

There will be a celebration of life at 1:00 p.m., Saturday August 16, 2014 at the Corner Club in Central Point.
