Janet Beverly Lamb
Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister Janet Beverly Lamb, age 93 passed away in her Central Point home on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Born November 1, 1920 in Medford, Oregon to Guy W. and Hazel Bishop (McClelland) both from pioneer families of the valley. She was one of six children: Truman, Rosemary, June, Guy (Bid) and Bernard (Bud). She grew up in Jackson County, Oregon and graduated from Medford High School in 1938. Janet married Kenneth Lamb and together they lived in Central Point on Old Stage Road where they raised their three children: Russell, Carolyn, and Susy.
Janet was a dedicated homemaker and took pride in being a loving mother. She enjoyed gardening, tending flowers, canning, and sewing. Janet was also an amazing baker and cook. Her children and family fondly remember the many special foods that she made for them including her homemade donuts, apple pies, and milkshakes.
In her later years, Janet enjoyed traveling with her siblings and children. She also loved the companionship of her dogs, playing pinochle with her family, watching old westerns, listening to country music and to Neil Diamond, reading, and visits from her grandchildren.
She is adoringly remembered by her brother, Guy (Bid) Bishop; her son, Russell; daughters, Carolyn and Susy; her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; and her extended family.
A public service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2014 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2201 N. Phoenix Road, Medford, Oregon. A family burial will be held in private.
