Nadine Whitman Archer
Nadine Whitman Archer, 89, of Central Point, Ore. passed away Monday September 22, 2014 at Providence Medford Medical Center.
Nadine was born April 9, 1925 in Thornton, Ark. to Johnnie Nathan Whitman and Easter Gertrude Golden Whitman. She graduated from Warren Arkansas High School in 1944. She met Gil Archer Sr. in Leesville, Louisiana and married him in Temple, Texas April 1960. Nadine worked many years as a waitress and also owned and operated a laundromat in Medford, Ore. in the 1980s. She was a member of the Central Point Assembly of God Church.
Nadine is survived by her husband, Gil Archer, Sr.; sons, Bennie Ray Cox of Fordyce, Ark. Johnny Max Cox of Stephens, Ark., and Gill Archer, Jr. of Central Point, Ore.; sister, Sue Pinkard of Kingsland, Ark.; three grandsons, one great-grandson, three great-granddaughters, and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by husband, Truman Cox; son, Truman Dwayne Cox; four brothers and her parents.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2014 at Abbey Funeral Home, 550 Business Park Dr. Medford, Ore. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2014; at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Abbey Funeral, Medford.
