Robert E. (Bob) Meyers
Robert E. (Bob) Meyers, 80, of Medford, Ore. passed away October 19, 2014. Bob was born in Portland, Ore. March 10, 1934 to Daurice and Carl Meyers. Bob moved to Medford as a young boy and lived here his entire life. He attended Roosevelt grade school, McLaughlin Jr. High, and Medford Senior High School, graduating in 1952.
Bob married Betty Larson November 10, 1962 and together they blended a family of six children, Michael Meyers of Medford Ore., Pamela Capello of Eagle Point, Ore., Pamela Medina of Emperia, Kans., Pollette Hendrickson of Chandler, Ariz., Stuart Meyers of Escalon, Calif., and Laurie Walker of Medford, Ore.
Bob worked as an Owner/Operator in the trucking industry and enjoyed flying, motorcycle racing, hunting, fishing, boating, and attending NASCAR races. Bob got his pilot's license at an early age; he loved flying and it was always dear to his heart. In his later years Bob and Betty enjoyed traveling in their RV with family and friends. Bob is survived by his wife Betty, all six children, four granddaughters, 10 grandsons, one great-granddaughter and sister, Carolyn Boye of Gold Beach, Ore. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Daurice and Carl and son-in-law, Jerry Capello.
Bob was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and a private service for the family was held at the church November 1, 2014. Memorial donations may be sent to the First Church of the Nazarene, 1974 E. Mc Andrews Road in Bob's name for missions.
