Johnny William James

Johnny William James, 71, of Ashland, Ore. passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014 in Medford, Ore. Johnny was born June 3, 1943 in Klamath Falls, Ore. to Anna and James James.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and James; sisters, Rose Mae Ash and Francis Elliott; and brother, Jimmy James. Johnny leaves behind his brothers, Larry James and wife, Mary, Victor James and wife, Cris; sisters, Doris Wiley and husband, Wayne; Helen Clark; Pamela Todaro and husband, Dean; and Jacqueline Banezueloz; and his children, Cheryl Blair, Lorraine Alleman, Diana Borland, LaVerna Thompson, and Victor James. Johnny also leaves behind eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Johnny was a lifelong truck driver with over one million driving miles under his belt. Additionally, he was a "professional salvager" and entrepreneur, constantly developing new and innovative business ideas. He moved to Modoc County as a young boy, worked at the bowling alley setting pins in grade school, and then finished high school. He bought Main Street Shell Station, aka Gil's Gas in the 1960s, where he met and married Sharon Hall, and started his family of seven.

Services for Johnny will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, 1811 Ashland Street, Ashland, Ore. A reception will follow.
