Linda Katherine Heitkamp
Linda Katherine Heitkamp, 75, passed away peacefully December 7, 2014 at her home in Jacksonville, Ore. surrounded by her family. She was born Linda Katherine Eaton July 18, 1939 in Eugene, Ore. to the late John and Edna Eaton. She later moved to Grants Pass, and then to Medford where she graduated from Medford High School in 1957.
Linda married Martin D. Heitkamp July 25, 1959. After Martin graduated from Oregon State University, they settled in Medford, Ore. on the family ranch. Together they raised their three children, Marty, John, and Tina. After many years on the ranch, Martin and Linda built their dream home on the Upper Applegate where she resided until her death.
Linda's love for her family was rivaled only by her love and compassion for animals, rescuing and nurturing those that could not care for themselves. She enjoyed her time working on her many hobbies such as baking, knitting, gardening, and weaving. One of her highlights was winning first place in the Jackson County Fair for one of her beautiful weaving projects.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edna Eaton, and grandson, Zachary Goss. She is survived by her husband, Martin Heitkamp; her sons and their wives, Marty and Susan Heitkamp and John and Tabatha Heitkamp; her daughter and her husband, Bret and Tina Goss; grandchildren, Josh and his wife Laura, Tyler, Mikayla, Christina, Shawna, Ricky, Molly, and Lilly; and great-granddaughter, Kyla. She also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her and visited her during her illness.
