Michael Leonard Sharp
Michael Leonard Sharp was born August 19, 1966 in Salem, Ore. to Leonard LeRoy Sharp and Deanna Sharp Dirks. Michael passed away November 18, 2014 as the result of a heart attack.
The family moved to Medford in June of 1967 and Mike attended Medford schools until the family moved to Central Point. Mike raised chickens and sold eggs to make enough money for him to buy a pony. He contracted for the pony without his parents' knowledge and paid for the pony out of his earnings.
Mike attended schools in Central Point through his sophomore year in high school and played football for the Comets. He always wanted to play football for the legendary Coach Spiegelberg and he moved to Medford with his father for his junior year of high school and played football that year in Medford. When he graduated from high school he attended two years of college at Southern Oregon University but he quit to begin working as a salesman.
Mike was the consummate salesman. He sold furniture, beds and mattresses, LA-Z-Boy chairs, he also worked for a period of time as an insurance salesman, sold cemetery plots, and sold automobiles. He worked in Medford for several years and moved to Portland. He lived in the Portland area for over 20 years.
He is survived by his mother, Deanna Dirks; sisters, Debra A. Dirks, Denise Dirks, Darcie Sharp Galbreath, and Keri Sharp Pape'; his partner, Cory Drew McMeans; and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Leonard L. Sharp; his daughter, Zabriena Lundgren; his grandparents, Bertha and Dan Sharp and Bud and Ruby Lowe; and his great aunts and uncles.
Mike will be buried in Grants Pass at Hillcrest Memorial Park near his grandmother, Bertha Sharp. No services will be held.
