Peggy Nelson Gribben

Peggy Ann Gribben, 59, of Eagle Point, Ore. passed away suddenly, surrounded by her loved ones, November 29, 2014, following a massive stroke.

Peggy was born in Boulder, Colo. January 22, 1955 to Gerald Greenfield and Doris (Walker) Greenfield. She spent her very early childhood in Boulder, with her two older sisters, Tia and Cyndi, and her younger brother, Ross. Peggy and her family moved to Medford when she was in elementary school, and she spent the remainder of her life as a resident of the Rogue Valley. It was here that Peggy met and married Dan Nelson and raised their two daughters, Kristi and Kori. Later in life, Peggy was fortunate to meet and marry the love of her life, Bernie Gribben.

Peggy was a long time member of Medford First Church of the Nazarene, and considered her faith, family, and friends the most important things in life. She loved children and was a mentor and mother-figure to so many. Peggy loved to flower garden, and spent endless hours cultivating her beautiful back yard. She also enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors. In recent years, Peggy took up quilting, and took great pride in teaching her grandchildren, Chloe and Logan her craft. Peggy will be remembered for her kind and nurturing spirit, beautiful smile, and loving ways. For those closest to her, she will also be remembered for her ability to make a house a home, for her love of all things "spicy", and for her enthusiastic enjoyment of a good storm... especially if there was snow involved.

In addition to her husband, Bernie, Peggy is survived by her mother-in-law, Esther Gribben, Hays, Kans.; her aunt, Helen Wolfson, Salina, Kans.; sister, Tia Greenfield, Riverside, Ill.; sister, Cyndi Ragsdale, Ashland, Ore.; brother, Ross Greenfield, Anchorage, Alaska; daughter, Kristi (John) Blackhurst of Medford, Ore.; and daughter, Kori (Luke) Acosta of Eagle Point, Ore. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Heather (Charlie) Kay of Edmond, Okla.; Casey Gribben of Eagle Point, Ore.; Anna (Chad) Peery of Eufaula, Okla.; and Adam (Laura) Gribben of Dallas, Texas. Peggy is also survived by her eight grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: Chloe, Logan, Jenna, Elissa, Madison, Owen, Olivia, and Alex. Peggy loved nothing more than cheering on and spending time with her grandchildren or snuggling with her beloved Boxer dogs, Graci and Coco.

Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Greenfield; her mother, Doris (Walker Greenfield) Enright; and her beloved in-laws, Allen and Hilda Nelson.

A memorial service celebrating Peggy's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Medford First Church of the Nazarene, 1974 E. McAndrews Rd, Medford, Ore. Peggy's life was a blessing and a treasure and she is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
