Alan Roy Hamilton

Alan Roy Hamilton passed away December 26, 2014 in Phoenix, Ore. Alan was born November 9, 1949 in Ashland, Ore. to Louise and Arthur Hamilton. He married Genita Hamilton in 1978 in Portland, Ore. Alan was an electrician who had worked for Good Samaritan Hospital, Ashland Community Hospital, Rogue Valley Medical Center, and most recently the City of Medford, from which he retired November, 2014.

Alan was an avid cyclist and hunter. He was a lifetime member of both the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Oregon Hunters Assoc. In recent years he enjoyed numerous outings with his grief group of WinterSprings to concerts and the theater.

Alan is survived by a sister, Grace Hamilton; a brother, Jim (Sue) Hamilton; a sister-in-law, Betty Hamilton; nieces, Tina (Dan) Hanson plus daughter; Glenda (Paul) Binford plus daughter; Liz (Warren) Stubenrauch plus daughter and son; Lin Lidwig; and a nephew, Peter (Heather) Donis. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Hamilton (2011); his wife, Genita (2012); and sister, Lois Hamilton (2014).

There will be a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday January 10, 2015 at the Unitarian Church, 87 4th Street in Ashland, Ore.
