Lyn Richard (ne Eleanor Francis Kraai), 91, formerly of Bryn Mawr, Pa. passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Fern Gardens Senior Living, Medford, Ore. She was born April 14, 1923 in Kenosha, Wis., the daughter of Jay and Mary Kraai. She married Kenneth Lee Richard September 29, 1945 and resided in California, Ill., East Aurora, N.Y., and Newtown Square, Pa. They divorced in August 1975. Lyn was devoted to her faith and an active member at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church from 1967 to 2006, where she served as an Elder, was a member of the the nominating, hunger and homeless committees, and led Bible and prayer meetings. She loved golf and was a member of Aronimink Golf Club for four decades, playing weekly with her friends. She looked forward to her trips to Florida with her friends where they escaped the Philadelphia winters and played more golf. She was an avid bridge and card player, reader of mysteries, loved swimming and the sun. Lyn lived with dignity, grace and a gentle sense of humor, and she faced her final years with the same graciousness.
Survivors include: two daughters, Judith Ann Jellison (Rick) of Kansas City, Mo. and Amy Elizabeth Richard (Ed Pearson) of Ashland, Ore.; one son, Jack Richard (Erica Rademaker) of Ashland, Ore.; four grandchildren, Jill (Cory) Jines, Jennifer Shockley, Ricky (Emily) Jellison, Jessica Jellison (Paul Reicherter); and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her former husband (2011) and her two sisters, Marion (1990) and Doris (2010).
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church, Ashland, Ore. For those wishing to remember her, a donation to the First Presbyterian Church, Ashland, is appreciated.
