Daren Dean Smith

Daren Dean Smith, 54, of Shady Cove, Ore. passed away May 25, 2015 in an ATV accident. Daren was born in Ashland, Ore. December 18, 1960 to C. Roger Smith and Nancy McMaster-Ceccato.

Daren graduated from Phoenix High School Class of 1979.

Daren was a hard-working machinist and laborer who throughout his life worked as a logger, had careers at Biomass One and FD Thomas. Most recently Daren had been able to combine his manual skills with his love for the outdoors as he was care-taking the Wildhorse Ranch in Eastern Oregon.

Daren was a skilled outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. As a life member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Daren had successfully passed his love for hunting on to his daughters and was just beginning to imprint these important values on to his grandchildren.

Daren's family extends throughout Southern Oregon and Northern California; however, you did not have to be a part of Daren's family tree to be considered family. Daren was a fun-loving man with a big heart. Whether it was pulling a truck out of the mud, getting Christmas trees for people who did not have one, or just being willing to spin everyone around the dance floor, Daren was loved by all who came to know him.

Daren is survived by his father, C. Roger Smith who was born in Hilt, Calif. and Pam Smith both of whom now reside in Central Point. He is also survived by mother, Nancy McMaster–Ceccato and Roger Ceccato of Hilt, Calif. who now reside in LaPine. Daren has two loving sisters, Shannon Smith of Medford and Renee Berrey of Sisters with nephew, Daniel Stroemple. Daren is also survived by his two daughers, Aimee Smith of Corvallis and Andrea Rombach with son-in-law Cody Rombach who live in Bend with grandchildren, Camilla Rombach, four years old and Owen Rombach, nearly two years old.
