October 31, 1937 - June 24, 2015
On June 24, 2015 we lost our much-loved Mother, Gram, and friend, Marty Terrell. She was 77 years old.
Martha Jane Parker was born October 31, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio to George and Louise Parker. In 1961 she moved to Southern California where, soon after, she met and married Jim Terrell. Jim and Marty moved their family of four children to Sams Valley in 1967. There, they finished raising their children and remained happily married for 44 years. Jim preceded her in death December 20, 2006.
Marty worked for Asante as an Executive Administrative Assistant retiring after 25 years. After her retirement, Marty remained very active in the community. She worked with Hope Equestrian, was active with the Rogue Valley Wings, Mountain Valley Riders, GWTA, and was the Co-Founder of the Oregon Fallen War Hero’s Memorial in Central Point.
Marty is survived by her four children, John (Linda), Jim (Dean), Virginia (Mike), and Wade (Cathy). She is also survived by her five granddaughters, Stephanie, Erin (Knute), Johnna, Alissa, and
Caroline; along with her two great-grandsons, Wyatt and Wesley.
She will always be remembered for her selflessness, dependability, laughter, beautiful smile, sense of humor, strength, wisdom, constant support, and most of all, her love of family and friends.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Bartlett House Memory Care and Providence Hospice for their love and support.
A celebration of her live will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Oregon Fallen War Hero’s Memorial, 222 E. Vilas Road, Central Point, Ore 97502.
