Mary Elizabeth Perrins Wright

May 22, 1920 - May 11, 2015

Mary Elizabeth Perrins Wright passed away peacefully May 11, 2015 at Rogue Valley Manor in Medford, Ore. at age 94. She is survived by her son, Jonathan Wright of Junction City and her grandson, Thompson B. Wright. Her two other adult children, Nancy Boyer and Douglas Wright predeceased her. Richard Boudinot Wright, her husband of 73 years, passed away August 24, 2014.

Beth, as she was known to friends, was born May 22, 1920 at the Brookline, Mass. home of her grandparents, Morris and Frances Jouett Hall to William Arthur Perrins, Jr. and Frances Hall Perrins. Brothers were Robert H. Perrins and William Arthur Perrins III.

Beth grew up in Massachusetts, attended Frost School, Wesford Academy, and Cushings Academy. After a year at Connecticut College for Women, she transferred to a school of fashion and design in Boston.

She married Richard B. Wright, "Dick", in 1941. She raised her children in McLean, Va., and where Dick's work took them: Puerto Rico, Munich, and Hawaii.

They eventually retired to Sunriver, Ore. and then Medford, Ore. Beth was an ardent hiker, cross country skier, seamstress, knitter, creative cook, inveterate collector of articles of nature, and world traveler. She gave legendary parties and was a community leader. She started a "Welcome to Sunriver" evening for newcomers, hosted the Sunriver Episcopal Fellowship in her home and was president of the Sunriver Women's Club and director of the Sunriver Owners' Association.

Her family would like to thank Mellchie Olarte for her years of compassionate care.

A graveside service will be held the day before what would have been Beth and Dick's 74th wedding anniversary on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wright Cemetery, Westford, Mass.
