John W. Enge

John W. Enge

September 12, 1949 - September 3, 2015

John passed away at home in the early morning of September 3, 2015. He leaves behind a wife who loves him beyond measure and his children Jesse, Alicia, Morgan, Daniel, Elias, and RJ. His legacy continues with his grandson, Connor, whom he was extremely proud of and enjoyed spending time with.

Those who knew John best will remember him most for his wisdom, bear hugs, and sense of adventure. These three things extended into the areas of family, Norwegian heritage, and fishery politics. His blog, Alaska Cafe, impacted many influential people in his home state of Alaska.

His true love, Terry says,"Today we said goodbye to John after a valiant fight against a horrific disease. He fought it with the fierce determination of a warrior, never complaining, always believing that he would conquer in this battle as he had in other battles. He will live on in our hearts and will stand beside us as we carry on. We want to thank all who have stood with us and who have supported us so completely with prayers, time, food, money, and most of all your friendship and love."

"He is like a tree planted by streams of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither, in all that he does, he prospers."  - Psalms 1:34
