Keith B. Van Horn
Keith passed away October 28, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born in Medford, Ore. to Edgar and Delora Van Horn. Keith had two siblings, Joan Lucas and Julie Flagg who both preceded him in death.
He began his career as a Medford police officer in the late 1950's. While on the job as a police officer he fell in love with his beautiful wife, Patricia. Keith and Pat were blessed with three children, all boys. In 1965, Keith was hired by Oregon Automobile Insurance Company as a claims adjuster and he moved his family to Portland to begin their new life.
In 1972, Keith and family moved back to their hometown as he took his new position as claims manager. Keith was always the life of the party, loving to joke and kid everyone he met. He loved to hunt and fish and the great outdoors while his family was growing up.
In retirement Keith and Pat traveled extensively, from their timeshare in Hawaii, to the many winters spent in Yuma, Ariz. Keith loved trains and one of their favorite trips was a ride on the rails from the East Coast across Canada to home. He loved, and was loved, by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia; his sons, James (Robin), and Scott (Sheri); his grandchildren, Christopher, Jason, Kayla, Derek and Jared; and his great-grandchildren, Layla and Dylan.
One of Keith's beloved sons, our brother John, preceded him in death. Now, Keith joins him.
A gathering will be held for all family and friends from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Patricia’s home.
