Richard E. Thompson lost his fight with cancer November 1, 2015 at his home, at the age of 83. He was born January 24, 1932 to Maurice E. Thompson and Ella Root, in Corvallis, Ore.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Thompson; sons, Bruce Thompson and Robert Thompson; daughter, Julie Wyant; two granddaughters, Ella Price and Amy Hartman; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Elijah. He was preceded in death by his brother David Thompson; sister, Geraldine Oeser; grandson, Lance Thompson; and his first wife, Joyce Thompson.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Mountain Church, 1 E. Main St., Medford, Ore.
