Clifford A. Craft
Clifford Craft passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, November 1, 2015 at his home in Central Point, Ore. Cliff was preceded in death by his wife, Claire, February 7, 2015. They were happily married for 68 years.
Cliff was born to Lee and Viola Craft December 9, 1919 in Kadoka, S.D., one of six children. Cliff grew up with his siblings in Hot Springs, S.D.
Cliff was a WWII veteran serving in the Army Air Corps, 352nd Fighter Group, stationed in England. After the war, Cliff returned to Hot Springs where he met the love of his life, Claire. They married September 27, 1946.
Cliff is survived by his daughter, Ellen and her husband, Kirk Brown, of Crescent City, Calif.; his son, Steven and his wife, Vicci, of Portland, Ore.; his son, Ronald and his wife, Linda of Central Point, Ore.; his brother, Frank and his wife, Jean of Hot Springs South Dakota. He was also a proud grandfather of eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Cliff moved his family to Ashland in 1961 where he owned and ran his own business until he retired. Cliff was a self-made businessman and active member of the community, serving in the Chamber of Commerce, and was a member of the Rotary Club and the Elks Club. He served several years on the Ashland School Board. Both Cliff and Claire were active members of the Trinity Episcopal Church where Cliff held several leadership roles.
Cliff and Claire spent many years traveling and square dancing around Oregon. Cliff was a very talented amateur woodworker and an avid gardener.
