Clifford Arthur Huffman
Clifford A. Huffman passed away November 1, 2015. He was born August 18, 1925 in Bungo Township, Minn. to Ralph W. Huffman and Elfrida S. Pedersen Huffman. Cliff graduated from Pine River Junior-Senior High School in 1943 and joined the U.S. Navy that year. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
He worked as a brakeman and conductor for the railroad most of his life, retiring from Southern Pacific in 1986. He was diagnosed with leukemia a few short months ago, but he was very active up until shortly before he passed.
He had a love of music and played the guitar. He volunteered his time at Providence Hospital in Medford for several years, and was always there when he was needed to fill in. He enjoyed puzzles, board games, and outdoor activities such as walking, bicycling, golfing, and the occasional trip to Seven Feathers. He will be remembered for his wry wit and love of life, and always being there for his family.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Rick Coimbra; his brother, Robert (Bob) Huffman; his son-in-law, Ben Taylor; his grandchildren, Tracy Livingston (Rob) and Alicia Buchanan; and a wealth of extended family who loved him very much, too many to name, but no less important to him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughters, Vicky Richardson and Leah Taylor; his sister, Lois Dirks; his wife, Retha Huffman; and the mother of his children, his friend and former wife, Donna Thacker.
A memorial gathering will be held January 16, 2016. Please call Elaine at 541-821-1815 for more information. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
