Marcus Barry Heritage
Marcus Barry Heritage passed away December 11, 2015 at his home on Pleasant Creek Road, north of Rogue River. He left this life at 73 years of age.
Mr. Heritage was born in Winchester, England. He was granted a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, England. He received a master’s of business administration degree ("MBA") from the University of Denver during his 30-year career with IBM. He then spent time in Business Development with Avery Dennison in Pasadena, Calif.
Marc’s passions included the natural world, life-long learning, and innovation. He and Kathleen backpacked many trails, from New Zealand to Canada, and hiked much of England. After moving to Oregon in 2000, Marc was involved with Rogue Community College, the Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development Initiative, and the Southern Oregon Angel Investment Network.
He married Kathleen Davidson-Borst in Boulder, Colo. 30 years ago. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; his son, Miles Heritage of Colorado; his daughter, Larissa Heritage Bundy of Colorado, and her three daughters Anastasia, Alexandra, and Ashley. His son, Anthony Gheller, lives in Upper Michigan and has a daughter, Emily.
A remembrance gathering will be held this spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rogue Community College Scholarship Fund or a similar cause.
