Orville Lee Wasmund
Orville Lee Wasmund, 81, of Ashland, Ore. passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at his home. He was born October 23, 1934 to Viola (Kepka) and Lowell Wasmund, in Worthington, Minn.
On May 3, 1953 he married the love of his life, Virginia Helms. They moved to southern California where he worked for Lucky Markets. In 1965 he moved his young family to Ashland, Ore. He was the meat manager at Safeway stores in both Ashland and Medford.
He enjoyed camping, scouting, hunting, fishing, stock car racing, and traveling.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia, of Ashland, Ore.; his children, Richard (Terri) of Anchorage, Ala.; Brad (Mary) of Ashland, Ore., and Eileen (Doug) Ellison of Anchorage, Ala.; his four grandchildren; his four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Norma Weaver of Shady Cove, Ore. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dale; and his sister, Gloria.
He requested no funeral services. There will be a celebration of life gathering from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m, Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the family home in Ashland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Ashland office of Asante Home Health and Hospice, 209 N. Pacific Highway, Talent, OR 97540 would be appreciated.
