Frank Rinna

Frank Rinna, a longtime Medford resident and artist, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 21, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was born in June of 1922 in Sopris, Colo.  Frank enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1942 and served faithfully until 1946.

He graduated summa cum laude from the College of Arts and Crafts in California. He worked as a staff artist for the San Francisco Chronicle as well as a doing freelance work with Standard Oil, Chevron and PG&E. He joined Harry & David, Inc. as the Executive Art Director in the 1970s.

Frank retired in 1988 to pursue his first love, watercolor painting. He was commissioned for many paintings and sculptures by local residents and businesses. He was also commissioned to do four Britt Festival posters over the years.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Lois; his two daughters, Nancy Rinna DeLand (Dori) and Lisa Rinna Hamlin (Harry); his grandchildren, Traci Deland Ryde (Ian), Delilah Belle Hamlin, and Amelia Gray Hamlin; and his great-grandchildren, Samantha Ryde and Tavis Ryde.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 31 W. 6th St., Medford, Ore. 97501.
