Dorothy 'Marlene' McComb
Marlene McComb, 77, of Central Point, Ore. passed away peacefully Thursday, January 21, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. She was born May 17, 1938 to James Herbert Golden and Carrie Opal Fisher in Vancouver, Wash.
Marlene married Gerald R. McComb in 1971 in Medford, Ore. She attended Crater High School in Central Point, and worked locally as a pear packer for Rogue Packing House and Naumes.
Marlene had been a member of the Medford Moose and Eagles lodges. She was a member of the Moose campers club and enjoyed many good outings with Jerry and others. She enjoyed league bowling at Medford Lanes for many years, and spent many days at nearly every school and sporting event her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids attended and in which they participated.
She is survived by her children, Jim Tipler of Medford, Tony Tipler of Portland, Troy Tipler of Medford, Allen McComb of Central Point, Renee Tipler Fenn of Grants Pass, Cheri Ledbetter of Texas, and Christy McDougall of Oakridge; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry; all of her siblings; her daughter, Daphne Nicholson; and sons-in-law, Dale Nicholson and Marty McDougall.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Hillcrest Memorial Chapel, 2201 N. Phoenix Rd, Medford, Ore. She will be laid to rest with Jerry in Hillcrest Memorial Park. www.hillcrestmortuary.com
