Delbert Hugo Stratman

"Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy;

Hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope."

Del passed away March 5, 2016 and entered into eternal life. He was born to Hugo and Alma Stratman at St. Joseph's Hospital in Deadwood, S.D.

The family moved from South Dakota to Oakland, Calif. in 1942 where Del attended St. Mary's Elementary School, St. Elizabeth's High School, and Contra Costa College. He worked for Safeway prior to managing his own cleaning company, Klean-Klean for 10 years. He retired to Medford in 1995.

Del enjoyed deep-sea fishing, photography, world travel, and visiting Catholic shrines. He was a member of the Legion of Mary for 15 years and worked with parish ministries at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church before he became ill.

He is survived by his two brothers, Richard of California and Robert of Florida; by his nieces, Marie Stenberg and Greta Stratman; and his nephews, Richard Stratman and Hugh Stratman.

A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016 followed by the Funeral Mass at 8:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 517 W. 10th St., Medford, Ore. 97501

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Legion of Mary Chapter at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
