John Howard Jarrell
John Howard Jarrell, beloved partner, father, brother, and son, passed away September 30, 2015. He was born February 21, 1977 in Ashland, Ore. and graduated from Ashland High School in 1995. He lived nearly all of his 38 years in the Rogue Valley.
An avid outdoorsman John spent his free time hiking, mushroom hunting, and camping. He was also an active cyclist and runner. When he was not outdoors, he enjoyed reading, bowling, and playing Scrabble.
Known for his big, beautiful, kind eyes and bright smile, John was clever and inventive. He could do some amazing things with duct tape and string, and was the first to show up whenever anyone needed a helping hand. He loved his coffee, and could tell you the name of nearly every barista in the Rogue Valley.
John, or "JJ" as the crew fondly called him, spent many years working at Angelo's Pizza. He truly enjoyed the time he spent with his Angelo's family and would be quick to boast that his dad, Jim, created the famous 'JJ's Special.'
John met the love of his life, Jeanna, when he was 12 years old. The two were close friends for nearly a quarter of a century before they realized they had fallen in love. Though his time was short with their son, Henry, John was an amazing father and he adored their little boy.
John lived life on his own terms and epitomized Dr. Seuss' words, "Why fit in when you were born to stand out?"
John is survived by his infant son Henry Jarrell; the love of his life, Jeanna Bush; his parents, Jim and Gwen Jarrell; his brothers, Scott and Bill Jarrell; his niece, Jocelyn; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the Christian Church of Ashland, 318 B St, Ashland, Ore. 97520.
