Gwendolyn Charley Campbell
Gwendolyn Campbell left us April 4, 2016. She was born October 31, 1922 to Reed and Myrtle (Farlow) Charley in Medford, Ore. She lived much of her life in the Rogue Valley.
Gwen was a descendant of three early pioneer families, the Browns, the Farlows, and the Charleys. She lived at the big house on Highway 140 and at Waverly Cottage in Medford, Ore.
On December 24, 1942 she married Robert Campbell who preceded her in death in October 1999. Their family consisted of four children, Bob (Diane), Norman (Toby), Janice (Rich), and Nancy who passed away in April 2004.
Gwen worked as a cook and baker in the Medford Schools and at several local restaurants. At the Milky Way Restaurant, she made over 40,000 pies and cakes.
She enjoyed playing cards and board games, especially with her grandchildren, and was happy to just visit with family and friends.
Gwen is survived by her sister, Janet Stocks of North Bend, Ore.; her three children; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Gwen was laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park, next to her beloved husband, Bob.
