Jack W. Joynt
Jack W. Joynt 92, of Medford, Oregon passed away peacefully on May 18, 2016. He was born in Detroit, Mich. to John and Dorothy Joynt. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II, earned his bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from Lawrence Institute of Technology (Lawrence Technical University), developed a career path with Ford Motor Company, and retired as the superintendent of the Ford Rouge Foundry, Dearborn, Mich.
Jack married the love of his life, Lucille M. Babineaux of New Iberia, La. and together they raised seven wonderful children: Dorothy, John, Alice, Dennis, Robert, Albert, and Shirley. Jack and "Cille" were blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.
Jack's passions were sailing, wood working, camping, Frank Lloyd Wright, and was very involved in Boy Scouts of America Troop 51. He was a natural leader in homeowner associations and other volunteer organizations. He also enjoyed jazz, dogs, and a good joke. He was a member of the American Legion Post 15-Medford.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents John and Dorothy and his wife of 67 years, "Cille." Jack is survived by his sister Elizabeth Jankura of Colorado and his friends in South Shore Resort, Lake Wales, Florida.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. May 25, 2016. The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. May 26, 2016 at Perl Funeral Home.
The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation for the care and support from the staff at the Bartlett House, to the staff and volunteers from Asante Hospice Services and to Robert Yamane, MD and his staff.
